Spring seems to be trying to make itself known, with snow drops and daffodils flourishing despite the bitter winds and snow flurries. It’s a time of hope and renewal in nature and hopefully a time for us to make progress on our project. We have had the good news that the Isle of Wight Community led Housing fund, that we have used for earlier stages of the development, is being extended for a year so we can apply to that again when the time is right. We have also heard that more money has been put into the national community housing fund and we are looking into whether we will be eligible for that
Covid has caused many problems and has definitely slowed things down for us, but has also had the benefit that many conferences are now online. There is a Rural Housing Summit in Scotland that is now open to all of us – well worth taking look at the programme and signing up for anything of interest.
We still have many obstacles to over come but right now we can see progress happening and the hope of spring is invigorating us.
