This has been a busy time for us with the many obligatory meetings (none have been in a pub yet which is a little disappointing but should be rectified next month) and a few site visits for a number of us. We have met with architects, planning consultants, land-owners and land-agents and as well as this have been working on all our background policies and have even found time for a technology training session.
Our core focus at the moment is still finding the right piece of land for our project, we have traipsed through a number of overgrown sites risking nettle stings and bramble prickles in our search.
The main excitement for us has been finding an architect to work with us who really gets what we are trying to do and seems to balance the idealistic and pragmatic in a way that suits us well, so we are delighted to be working with Barefoot Architects on our project. They have worked with other co-housing groups before and we are looking forward to developing the cohousing development with them http://barefootarchitects.co.uk/
Like many groups we have found that no matter what the time of day we all function better if there is coffee and good cake, sometimes the discussions draw to a halt as we are all nomnoming our way through the goodies of the day, various banana breads and chocolate tiffins seem to have been the most popular so far.
